The argument about intellectual property continues to rage on and the newest supreme court nominee sides with the RIAA and other hardline IP rights groups in some of her decisions so this issue won’t be going away soon. Do you think this couple should pay a fee to Vampire Weekend for this video? Do you consider it theft and injury that they didn’t pay?
Personally I would hate to see someone who is exceedingly visually creative be stunted because they don’t have musical ability to provide a solid backdrop for thier craft. I’m not suggesting that directly profiting off of someone elses hard work is fair either; however I believe that this issue needs to be brought back into the grey instead of this current black and white argument it is currently mired in.
